Aesthetic Clinique, Steve Weiner, MD, Facial Plastic Surgeon, Destin, Post Procedure Guidelines

Post Procedure Care

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin

  1. If you had your forehead injected, do not wear a hat for 4 hours
  2. Do not massage the areas injected for 4 hours
  3. Do not lay face down in a massage headrest for 4 hours
  4. Avoid exercise, hot tubs, saunas, or overheating for 4 hours
  5. It might be beneficial to exercise/move the muscles which were injected for the first hour
  6. If your eyelid (not eyebrow) is drooping, call office immediately
  7. Very few patients will experience flu like symptoms for 24-48 hours.  Usually tylenol will take care of this.  A headache can also occur for a day or two.
  8. The full results of your treatment are seen at 10 days.  Call the office if you would like Dr. Weiner to see you if you are not satisfied or have questions regarding your treatment.  Keep in mind that Dr. Weiner's philosphy is to treat for a natural appearance, with some movement, and unless you discussed with Dr. Weiner, you will not have a "frozen" look.

Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, Belotero, Perlane

  1. Do not massage the areas injected
  2. Avoid physical activity for the remainder of the day to decrease bruising.
  3. If instructed, apply cold pads or ice pads to area injected for the first few hours.  Be careful because the skin is numb, so move frequently to avoid freezing the skin
  4. If you have a bruise, the VBeam in our office can expedite it's healing, but must be done within 48 hours.  This service is complimentary.  You must call to schedule this.
  5. IF THE SKIN IS TURNING VERY PALE OR HAS A BLUISH TINT EVEN IN AREAS NOT INJECTED OR IF THE SKIN IS BLACK, CALL THE OFFICE IMMEDIATELY.  THE SKIN'S BLOOD SUPPLY MIGHT BE COMPROMISED.
  6. It might decrease brusing if you avoid things that thin the blood like aspirin, motrin, Aleve, fish oil, vitamin E, etc, if not medically necessary.
  7. For 24-48 hours, expect some swelling.  Sleeping as upright as possible will lessen this.  After about 2 weeks, the swelling should be completely gone and this is your end result.
  8. Remember that Radiesse is different than all the other fillers and will have more swelling and firmness for about 3-4 days.
  9. Assymetries are fairly common and will almost always even themselves out in the first 2 weeks.  Keep in mind that you might not have been symmetric to start off with.
  10. Sometimes this procedure can stimulate a cold sore, particularly if the lips are injected.  If you experience the tingling or numbness that precipitates the outbreak, please call our office for medication.
  11. Sometimes the correction you desire is not fully achieved in the treatment.  You must wait 10 days for the swelling to subside before Dr. Weiner will re-inject, so he can tell where he is starting from.

Infini

  1. Avoid overheating for 1 hour, otherwise no restrictions.
  2. Use only the recommended skincare. DO NOT APPLY MAKEUP, SUNSCREEN, OR ANY PRODUCT NOT APPROVED BY THE OFFICE UNTIL AM

  4. If you have a bruise, the Excel V laser in our office can expedite it's healing, but must be done within 48 hours. This service is complimentary. You must call to schedule this.
  5. Anti-inflammatories may decrease the results but this is not proven.
  6. Sometimes this procedure can stimulate a cold sore. If you experience the tingling or numbness that precipitates the outbreak, please call our office for medication.

  5. Anti-inflammatories may decrease the amount of collagen stimulated, but this is not proven.
  6. The "swelling" from the procedure will resolve in 24-36 hours and you will revert to your baseline.
  7. If you develop redness and/or painful or non painful nodules, please call our office
